What online pharmacies fill Schedule II drugs (methylphenidate ER)?

Anonymous
Has anyone had success with an online pharmacy with a reasonable stock of methylphenidate ER 27 mg? We aren't having any luck with brick and mortar pharmacies, so I'd love to try an online pharmacy. It looks like Amazon Pharmacy doesn't do Schedule II drugs. We have Aetna insurance and need the generic.

Thanks!

Try CVS caremark

Call around to different pharmacies - Walgreens uses a different supplier for some meds than CVS for example.

We get a different stimulant med from express scripts. We have Cigna.

We use CVS/Caremark, and were told Caremark wouldn’t supply my DD’s Vyvanse by mail. I have to pick up the 90-day supply from a local pharmacy. We have CareFirst BCBS, but I’m not sure whether the insurance company makes a difference?

If anyone else successfully gets their stimulants by mail with CareFirst/Caremark, I’d love to know about it—wondering whether I didn’t push hard enough, or just asked the wrong person!

I have always used a brick and mortar pharmacy. How do you do these online pharmacies? Just give the name to your doctor and have them send the script into the remote pharmacy? Do you guys experience the shortages that the brick and mortar pharmacies have been going through? Thank you!!

Which CVS and dose? We have been waiting for a refill on methylphenidate 10 mg CD for more than 2 months from the CVS in downtown McLean and when we ask them to check other CVS locations, they tell us all locations are dealing with the supply shortage. Same story from the Giants and Safeways I called in the McLean/Tysons/Vienna area.

Yes. I give the name and the other identifying information that the doctor needs to send the script electronically, and then a week later, we get 90 days worth of meds in the mail.

My child takes concerta 30mg, and I have driven to up to 5 CVS stores in the Bethesda area to get it. I always find it eventually. Calling doesn’t help - the pharmacists sometimes tell me it’s in stock and it’s not. And their online system is also terrible - now I don’t bother to ask since it’s been more right than wrong.

I have my “top” two CVs stores I go to now which seems to mostly always have it in stock - they are about 3 miles away from our home and there are maybe 5 or 6 CVS stores which are closer. I don’t really understand why they seem to have it and other don’t, but has been my experience.

I've had great luck at a CVS in Target.

OptumRX fills them but hasn’t had my child’s stimulant in stock for some time.

That dosage was hard to get for a while, but I haven’t had any trouble getting it at CVS for months now.
