Any positive stories of plastic surgery in 40s?

Anonymous
In my mid 40s and am interested in having a couple things done - 1 that i've wanted for years (rhino) and another that i need due to sagging (upper blepheroplasty). I found a great surgeon but am concerned that no one actually looks good after plastic surgery at this age. Any good/ positive stories?

Upper eyelid surgery is the best money I’ve spent on anything cosmetic.

Nose depends on what you’re doing and who’s doing it.

Mostly it comes down to 3 things besides picking a skilled surgeon: How's your diet, exercise and skincare? If those are dialed in you'll be fine. Budget for upkeep. Once you start plastic surgery it's a lifetime commitment. Things may need to be adjusted again in 10-20 years.

Eye lift is the one surgery in your 40s that will make a huge difference and not look like you’re had work. Do it!

op - i had def planned to do the eyelid surgery and found a surgeon i like. ok this is helping.

the nose thing - i have never liked my nose and always wanted rhinoplasty. as i'm in my mid 40s i've noticed i just look generally worse, so my thought was why not fix the thing i can fix.

Who was your doc? I’m not happy with my results and looking to do a revision.

I did a lower blepharoplasty a year ago. The verdict is still out. I like how it looks at resting face but when I smile, my eyes are waaaay wrinklier than before.

+1 buyer beware
Maybe I should have done just lasers under the eye

Dr Jabs did my eyelids. Love him.

The doctor who did my nose retired a long time ago. Regret that one. He 100% should have turned me away.

I think this can be one of those times when a good doctor will tell you that although that area will be fixed, you’d get better results by doing x,y, and z together. And if you haven’t read up on it a lot yourself or don’t trust the doctor, it might just sound like upselling. But I think it’s true that sometimes doing more at once actually gives a more natural, satisfactory result.

I did tummy and chin lipo and I love it. I’m still a size 10/12 but no more muffin top. Best $ ever. I’d do a TT too but I’m freaked out about the recovery and potential complications. I wish I’d done it sooner. OP it only gets harder to heal as you get older so I’d say if you really want it, nows the time. FWIW I also got veneers in my 40’s. My teeth were straight but tiny and it always drove me nuts my entire life. It’s silly thing probably no one else notices but it really improved my outlook. DH didn’t even know I had it done until the credit card bill arrived

I agree. Looks only good when you are young, but it hollows out the eyes as you age. You be putting the fat back with fillers.

I would not mess with eyes or nose. Let it be, it gives character. Only do the face lift to tighten the jaw and neck. It’ll look very natural and not look like a Hollywood weirdo.
