We need a house manager/sitter for a special needs ND child who is ten |
. You can try upping your rate to at least 30$ and not 17$. No one is going to take 17$ that’s taxed working with a special needs child. If they do I’d be extremely cautious and wonder why they’re interested. |
Have you tried care.com? That's where I've had the most success in the past. If you're just offering the medicaid rate of 17.52 (I think?), it will be very hard to find someone. |
I agree if you are in the $30-35hr range you should be able to find someone on a facebook group, here on dcum, listservs, etc |
Stop looking and watch your child yourself. It’s called being a parent. NO ONE is lining up to make a whopping 17$ with taxes being taken out with the stress/headache of dealing with a special needs child. You obviously don’t want to quit you job to do it why do you think someone else would? I’m not trying to be harsh it’s the reality no one would want this position unless it’s paying above wage and it’s not. |
+1 -be a parent. |
Did the OP say they're only offering the medicaid rate? |
Yes she did. Now OP has ran an ad on Craigslist from what I could see over the weekend. Perhaps she needs to call Medicaid and ask if they have any referrals since they want to pay using them. Oh and you must be ok waiting 2-3weeks for pay until Medicaid sends you your first check. |
Oh I see. At least the Op is honest. Op, could you go through an agency that works with medicaid? It will be hard to find someone especially if you want them to use their own vehicle during work hours without reimbursement.
