Mck overhired so now putting 3000 staff on path to being counseled out |
Why not just do a layoff? |
It’s bad for the brand They did do some layoffs but mbb doesn’t like to straight up layoff peeps |
Seems like companies are laying people off yet using a different term to describe the layoffs. |
Did McKinsey put J1 J2 J3 guy in charge? |
Word is many em’s at mck are only on 40% utilization right now
|
PIPs suck. Just lay them off. Stop making employees jump through hoops only to be let go. Waste of time. |
It makes McKinsey look incompetent if they actually fire en masse. I went to a job market talk last week and there was an h.r. person who works for a McKinsey competitor. She's basically an internal career counselor and outplacement counselor. Gotta keep the pipeline moving! |
Amazon is doing the same thing. |
Bad press and severance. |
It's better to announce you have 3,000 poor performers attending client needs? |
They aren’t being staffed on engagements right now |
Most are probably fine and targeted for salary or just politics. |
Doesn't it make them look incompetent for having hired 3k employees who apparently do not meet their performance standards? In any case, the honest thing to do would be to just have a mass layoff. |
They will be paying severance when they let them go anyways. Amazon does that too. |
