Fed agencies and hiring freezes

Are any fed agencies putting or already have a freeze on hiring given the cr?

It's not a freeze, but I switched jobs for a promotion last month, and my old division "hasn't been given authorization to hire" for my job or any other vacant positions. Nothing formal, just...indefinite delay.

Any non-financial agencies (like Transportation or Interior) on freezes or something functionally equivalent?

The freezes don't happen until right before the economy tanks and then all the laid off people complain they can't get a gov job. It's why we get more work and no raises during recessions.

FDIC is both excepted civil service, and not in the budget, right ?

We are trying onboard as many people as we can at the monent afaict but if that 1% across the board cut hits hiring will be the first thingn that stops

Reddit seem to have posters having offers rescinded by the VA almost every day, including final offers.

I noticed that. It made me wonder why the VA is even bothering making offers, but perhaps it means there are many more TJOs that actually go through to completion that we don't hear about?
