So, the Dems new talking point is that Trump and Vance are “weird”

Hah. I remember an older cousin of mine, when I was probably 9 and he was 17, telling me that "nobody looks manly drinking from a straw." This would have been in the early 80s. He turned into just the kind of right wing goober you'd expect.

But do grown men worry about looking “manly”? I can sort of understand adolescents but older than that is weird.

That's what's so weird about Jesse Waters and his ilk.

Manly men don't use straws because it causes wrinkles. Marionette lines around your mouth.

Haha. Manly men don't care about wrinkles.

Yeah real masculine men abandon their wife and kids for a young airhead trollop they preyed on at work. This dainty slimebag is the antithesis of a real man.

That's what's so psychotic about the GOP thinking they are the side of "family values" and "American values."

So I guess "values" to them include a married man letting the air out of some young producer's tire so she's forced to get a ride with him, have an affair and leave his family to start another one. The really gross part is actually telling this story out loud and thinking his behavior wasn't predatory.

How do these trashy, low-class people have the audacity to see themselves as anything but the very reason "family values" is a joke?

They were Democrats before but found if they say things Republicans want to hear, it will get them support. They are fear mongers talking about illegals, the Wall, socialism, etc. Their followers are all idiots.

Neither of them are friends with nor associate with normal people. Trump lives in a gilded country club. Vance wrote a memoir about how much he despises white low and middle class voters, then moved to California to be mentored by a gay billionaire.

They are grossly out of touch, thus their messaging is falling flat. They can’t successfully pander even if they try because they don’t understand their base.

I can't speak to Vance, but as a NYer, I can tell you exactly how Trump thinks and has always thought regarding the types of people who support him.

I've said something similar before on here, but I will repeat it: Don't think it's only the "double-wide" types he loathes. If you are not from CA or the NE (NY/NJ/CT/MA), he thinks you're low class or not really bright. He doesn't care if you're UMC in the DMV. He certainly thinks you're "r*tarded" if you have a southern accent, regardless of your income or education. He is an elitist rejected by higher-up elitists.

He is every single horrible stereotype of an arrogant, obnoxious NYer. He is someone who would normally be loathed by the people who love him, but because he's a racist, bigoted pig, that's the only excuse any one of his supporters came on board. The media can attempt to coddle them and pretend their whining is legit, but it never was. That so-called "liberal" media did everything to validate and excuse his repugnant supporters. They gravitated to him for one reason: His hate for others. A bunch of provincial losers so angry a black guy became president, they cheered on an ignorant, born-on-third, birther pile of dogsh*t from NYC whose campaign was based on fear-mongering.

I especially love MAGA attacks on "Hollywood." I'm sure if Trump's choices were lunch at George Clooney's house or going to ANC, he'd choose the latter because he's such a patriot and respects people who serve for virtually no money.

It’s not just Trump and Vance, the entire right wing grifter apparatus is weird and in bed with foreign interests.

"Vance, in particular, personifies the sullen face of a joyless MAGA movement.
...
It’s telling that Vance’s notion of a freewheeling, lighthearted campaign involves disparaging political opponents with baseless slander and sexist screeds."

I’m sorry, but I don’t like seeing the Walz/ Harris campaign focus on this weird thing so much. I’d rather hear them talk about policies and what their plan is. These rants about weirdness are just so juvenile. Don’t they want to project a more mature, responsible image?

As compared to the MAGA Trump/JD sanity?

I get where you're coming from, but I think there's a legit reason for the argument about weirdness. The media sanitizes Trump. They treat him and portray him as they would any other candidate. He's not normal. He says crazy stuff and endorses mad conspiracy theories. He's unserious about governing. He has no policies. He doesn't believe in the Constitution and rule of law, our international alliances and the liberal post-War order, or the norms of behavior and American values that are fundamental to our democracy.

I guess instead of weird we could call it crazy, but it's not normal and voters need to be reminded of that.

You wouldn’t accept a Harris policy if it hit you in the face. Stop wah-wahing about Harris when Trump is a felonious windbag of lies, deceit, and juvenile insults. Trump’s policy is Project 2025. His winning team is a closeted gay, speech impaired brain worm, and Russian propagandist Tulsi— who’s not so attractive anymore.
