No, that’s too easy. McCarthy needs to butt-chug a Bud Light rainbow can being poured into the funnel by Dylan Mulvaney.

Ummmm. I'm afraid to google, so I am just going to assume this means an enema.

Probably would raise more money to see this than a cherry chapstick

Like Trump and other millionaires.

The top 50 percent of all taxpayers paid 97.7 percent of all federal individual income taxes, while the bottom 50 percent paid the remaining 2.3 percent. - the Tax Foundation

Flatten the tax code.

Well ya when the rich are filthy rich, especially in comparison with those of lower incomes, of course they're going to pay way more in taxes than people making a fraction of what they do. Duh. Maybe what you're looking for is a flattening of salaries at the top so there isn't such gross imbalance in our society.

HALF the country skating on taxes is BS.

They are still paying payroll taxes (SS, Medicare) and sales taxes. And property taxes.

The statement about 50% of people only paying 2.3 percent of taxes, is misleading to those who don't read carefully.

They are not paying income taxes.

They a skating and voting like it too (vote for the most free s*** because you don't have to pay for it). ENOUGH!

Flatten the tax code.

Tell us, o wise one, how much money those people are making without having to pay income taxes. Real numbers with sources. Go ahead. Let's see if you can dig up some facts. And then let's all digest the incomes so many Americans are struggling to live off.

Also tell us the "free s***" that you think people are getting. Do you mean schools? And firemen? Social services? Infrastructure? Just what kind of freebies are those folks getting? List them.

They can make $30k and have the government giving them money with EITC.

When you include local, state, and payroll taxes, we do have a flat tax. Yes, really. Analyses show this. You’re too myopic/ideological. See the bigger picture.

The bigger picture is you keep wanting more and more. The federal reserve prints more dollars to satiate that want. In turn, the US dollar becomes worth less and less because its value comes from its rarity. Otherwise, it's just paper with no backing.

And now countries around the world are working to get away from it as the medium for international exchange in transactions because its value is being eroded so fast by ridiculous demands for more spending everyday. Read the newspapers - they're in open revolt over the US dollar. Russia, China, India, Brazil, Saudi Arabia an dozens more.

You have a rich fantasy life. The value of the dollar comes from the productivity of the American people, the ability of the United States Government to tax it, and the absolute commitment of the United States Government to pay its debts.

If you don't lower the debt limit then nothing has been cut. This is just a fight about how to spend the debt limit increase.

BS. The value of the USD comes from its rarity. Learn basic economics.

Right. If you had a single U.S. Dollar - but with no productive capacity and no taxing authority behind it, it would be of unlimited value! Meanwhile if you have trillions of U.S. Dollars tied to a $23 trillion dollar GDP and taxation authority, they're practically worthless!

Republican God Ronald Reagan expanded the Earned Income Tax Credit rather than increase the minimum wage. He chose to have the government subsidize low income workers with kids rather than make businesses pay decent wages.

In 1990, even the liberal NYT editorial page said the ideal minimum wage is $0. You can mandate businesses pay decent wages, but if this is higher than worthwhile for the companies, it leads to less jobs/hours for low skilled workers. Those automatic checkout machines didn't show up out of nowhere.

1. If a business can’t pay decent wages, it isn’t viable and its failure is good for the economy.
2. If you love that workers are paid pitiful wages then shut up about them not paying more income taxes.
3. No true liberal or progressive gives a shit what the NYT editorial page says. NYT is a paper for investors not for workers.

DP... My philosophy is that if you are taking 40 hours a week of someone's time to have them help you with your business then you should be paying them enough to sustain themselves. Anything less is exploitation.

So much for Republican dedication working on the debt ceiling.
5 day weekend is obviously a priority!
