this winter is so cold!

I know come July I will miss these brisk days - but it's been freezing here for three months now! I could really use some nice days in the mid 70s!!

- brr in St Pete

I know this is not anything to say to anyone up north. But we're among fellow Floridians here.

I know what you mean, I found myself longing for the heat recently then felt guilty for not enjoying the chilly days more while they last.

I love the break from the heat! I don't like cold but I enjoy Florida 'cold'. It gives me an excuse to make chili and put on warm socks!

I am up in the panhandle. I enjoy this cool weather too. It lasts until mid-May. Then I stay inside mostly until late September.
It got down to 11 degrees here with the wind chill one night about a month ago.

This is OP and that's how I usually feel but it's been like this for a few months now! Where are my sunny winter days in the 70s?! Isn't that why we deal with those long, sweaty summers?!

I complain - but then I see pictures of the snow up north and it feels like watching some apocalyptic movie. Why do people choose to live like that? I'll take my brrr 50s days here in Florida over that, that's for sure.

Different poster who is also in the panhandle. And no, no snow. It was COLD for about a week with that one really cold night.

I don’t mind this weather, but I need it to be consistent. It was in the 60s mid week and the 30s on Sunday morning. I like the cooler days because I know in a few weeks I’ll miss it. And it’s also nice to make soup and chili.

Dh and I were just commenting on that yesterday. We have been here 15 years and it is the coldest winter I remember, in terms of mostly steadily cooler temps. I LOVE it. It is my favorite weather. I can barely cope with summers anymore though.

Hello fellow panhandler!
We have lived here in the Florida panhandle since 1982. In all that time, it has snowed three times. Well, snowed enough to go outside and make a one foot tall snowman that melts within 24 hours. People take their boogie boards and go sledding down the sand dunes along the beach.
