any recommendations for general Endocrinologist for control high TSH

Anonymous
My TSH level was above 4.27 in the last two months in a row. Need to find a general endocrinologist immediately.
Thanks for your recommendation. Also, does high TSH levels affect the quality of the eggs or just influence the embryo transfer?
Any comments or help is highly appreciated!!!

Good luck. I was told in late September to see an endocrinologist, and called all those nearby and in my network. The soonest I could get in was February. You say it's urgent, you're going to need your primary care doc to call an endocrinologist they know to get you in sooner

I had a fantastic one, but he retired. My PCP manages it for now.
Definitely get it under control prior to an embryo transfer, then make sure it is monitored frequently and IMMEDIATELY upon confirmation of any pregnancy. My endocrinologist told me he should be the 2nd person who found out I was pregnant, after my DH, and he was only a little joking. TSH can shoot up very rapidly in early pregnancy.

Granted this was like 8 years ago, but I had similar TSH and couldn’t find an endocrinologist to treat me. They wanted to wait until my TSH was closer to 10. Hopefully that’s changed.

I see an integrative doctor (at well-being, being-well) and she’s great. No concerns about treating me.

I’m the PP right before you, and my endocrinologist wanted me under 2.0 while trying to conceive (IVF/FET), and then as close to 1 as we could manage while I was pregnant. My old PCP that I was with when I was first diagnosed as having Hashimoto's didn’t see any issues with TSH as long as it was lower than 8, no matter how I was feeling or how many symptoms I had. My RE (I was with SGF) wasn’t willing to manage it, although he recognized it as a problem. I ended up self-referring to an endo.
