Tell me about your experience with injectables

Anonymous
I am 35 with DOR, AMH is quite low. I've been on letrozole for a while to no avail. I want to try injectables (menopur/gonal rff) with timed intercourse. Do doctors still do this? I know the risk of multiples is high, but at this point I would regard twins as a blessings and I am willing to risk getting pregnant with higher order multiples. Has anyone tried this? If so, can you share your experience and recommend a clinic/doctor that will go along with it?

I doubt anyone would let you do timed intercourse with injectables, but SGF will do IUI with injectables. They will closely monitor you and cancel if it looks like you are going to release multiple eggs and be at risk for multiples. I suppose if you are dumb enough to want to risk higher order multiples and put yourself and any potential babies at risk, you could always try normal intercourse if they cancel an IUI due to follicles.

OP here. I meant, of course, that I am willing to take some increased chance of multiples, not that I plan to throw caution to the wind. Anyone taking clomid or letrozole or similar is making a similar calculation.

I don't get why it's okay with IUI but not timed intercourse, but that does seem to the policy of many clinics.
