| I’m looking for new drinking glasses. Over the years all ours have slowly broken. Any recommendations? Looking for maybe a color or something a little different. |
|
I like “working” glasses or picardie glasses. They’re similar and both pretty tough.
The markup on glasses from chains like Crate and Barrel is insane. Check Amazon and Webstaurant store if you find something you like there, because they might have the same thing for way less. |
|
Do you need to put on "airs" or do you just need something functional/durable? If the latter, see: https://www.ikea.com/us/en/cat/glasses-18869/ |
| Agree with picardie rec. Nice, substantial, and very hard to break! |
|
This is what TJMaxx is for. Just go there and buy a 12 pack of basic drinking glasses. Stock your cupboards. Done.
Don’t waste brain power on researching (crowdsourcing?) drinking glasses. |
We also have these - in three different colors. I love hobnail. |
Yes, love these and I think they are pretty. Remind me of trips abroad. |
|
Another Picardie fan here. Have four different sizes and love them. I ordered them from the Vermont Country Store website years ago and they still have them!

| +10 for Duralex Picardie glasses! I have clear, but they come in colors. Super sturdy! |
+1000. They are functional, sturdy, easy to hold (not too big/wide), easy to drink from (not too narrow), stack nicely, come in different sizes, and look pretty! I got a mixed set from Crate & Barrel but they’re sold individually and tons of places sell them. |
I have these in blue and they’ve survived three moves with nary a chip! |
Same here, also in clear. The online store at DuralexUSA.com sometimes has them on sale. They are much cheaper bought in a set of 18 - which is 6 glasses each for 3 different sizes — compared with buying them as single glasses. |
| Once in a blue moon, CostCo has the 18pc Duralex Picardie available as an online-only item. A colleague bought them that way. |
