| We just moved from NY from an apartment and have never owned a home with a garden. Don’t know where to start! The garden is small but in bad shape. We are in Bethesda. I’d appreciate recommendations of gardeners or landscaping companies. How much should I expect to pay? |
| Ask your neighbors whom they use for landscaping. |

We did ours and got 3 recommendations (from Next Door), really just estimates. It was way more expensive than what we thought (beds in front of the house and around one side- think $15-$20k). A few years later we did another bed using the same company - $6k. Spouse wants to do a bed behind the house (we live on a corner in VA, comparable to Bethesda, no one can see it except us and a neighbor, we use the side yard more than the back yard).
And, it does look so much nicer! Here is my plug to use native plants for at least 80% of your garden/beds. The local creatures need it, and your beds/garden will thrive |
| Would you be willing to pay $500 to a gardener or horticulturist to come to your home, get measurements, listen to you, take notes, meet at a garden center and suggest the right plants for the right place in your garden? |
| Plant natives as much as you can. |

Two great companies in Moco, both come out to Bethesda -
Complete Lawn Care https://growinglawns.com/ Goshen Enterprises https://goshenenterprises.com/ Both ran by really nice, honest guys. They price by project, or give bimonthly prices as well. |
