Count as strength training?

It depends. Are you 80 and in rehab? Yes. Are you 35 and need to tone up? No, not enough to do any good.

Op here. I should have explained that my goal is just to prevent osteoporosis. I’m 40 with a normal BMI. I love cardio but hate lifting weights. I just had my second c-section in 2 years. My core strength is basically zero at the moment so body weight exercises are a struggle.

Please get a trainer before you do anything that hurts you. A really affordable option is a wellness centers that some PTs have. I know Montgomery Orthopedics just started a wellness center. you can see someone who is halfway between a personal trainer and a physical therapist about 50 bucks an hour.

+1 it sounds like you really need some individualized advice.

The point of strength training is to get stronger, not find something that “counts.”

No. It’s walking.

No.

Does me walking around with a 1.5lb belt bag count as strength training? Absolutely not.
