DC is young enough (and we're new enough to club swim) not to have a good answer on this. DC is also young enough to be highly bag-tag motivated and keeps asking whether this or that meet will have bag tags, to which I give the eternally unsatisfying answer that I don't know. What are the predictors for bag tags and other meet swag so that I can stop fending off the question? ![]() |
Ha, that is adorable.
Bag tags are at Championship meets (usually) - so JOs, Long Course Champs, Turkey Claus, etc. (Not at Sport Fair Winter Classic oddly). I think that my kid got one for one of the prelim/finals meets too. Meets will sometimes give out caps - I usually see it listed in the meet sheet. Some meets give out rubber duckies to heat winner (never seen my kid swim so fast to earn a duck) or flowers. |
Winter Classic had bag tags. |
NCI had them, IMX (this is not an invitation for IMX guy to bomb this thread), JOs, NCSAs and Zones after JOs will have them. I think some of the non-JO spring champs meets sometimes have them. In the summer, long course champs has them. |
I must have missed my kids getting them. I remember them from last year but not this year. |
generally this type of swag is listed in the meet announcement ![]() |
Foxes' Loughmiller Invitational in October had bag tags. York's Reindeer Mini-Meet has had caps for heat winners last year and this year (my kid was so bummed to not get one!). |
Swimmer bag tags have traditionally been given to the swimmers as their pass to get in to the meet at the athlete's entrance. They attach it to their bag and show security as they walk in. Used at big meets |
Does the RMSC meet this weekend have them? |
They always have in the past so I would assume so. |
Oh good. My swimmer will be thrilled. Thanks! |
Those heat winner caps are definitely coveted items! York also used to give out heat winner ribbons. They were cool; rainbow colored. |
