Chevy Chase Community Center Redevelopment

So the ANC in 3/4G finally got around to surveying the community and it looks like us folks at the Chevy Chase Voice were better at getting our people out in force to respond. We defeated the GGG/WABA people who tried as usual to stack the deck with outside ANC votes against the actual community's wishes. So now the mayor will cancel this project, right?

Deep distrust after the Connecticut Ave voucher fiasco.

Yeah, and that is not the only place it’s caused problems.

The city is broke. So if you can delay action for another year they won’t have the money.

GGW is the enemy of the people.

Wait, the MAGA pollster who spins for “smart growth “ wasn’t able to gin up enough virtual responses to skew another DC development survey? What happened this time?
Anonymous
No, she won’t. Silly OP.

So 95% of the people in the area either support the project or are not opposed to it.

Sounds like the city should move forward.

They have a hobby, unfortunately. They need a different hobby.

It is pretty clear that the survey has way oversampled single family homeowners and as well as those over 60. In other words, this is pretty meaningless given the overall demographics of that area.

Deep distrust after multiple fiascos. Nobody believes a word any of them say anymore.

I figured out that they were morons after the streetcar debacle which they championed as sooooo important blah, blah, blah which turned out to be a massive boondoggle. The icing on the cake is that they now criticize the streetcar without acknowledging their past advocacy.

So they have lacked credibility with me for a long, long time.

What’s incredible though is how after everything they promote turns to sh*t they try to change the subject to something else.

Slowly but surely though I have watched the loudest loudmouths slink away to other cities like we always knew they would, leaving behind this mess for longtime residents to cleanup like we always predicted would happen.

This is the demographics of that area...

Let people decide what happens in their backyard. Homeowners should also have a greater say given all the property tax that is collected from their homes..
