2028 Girls Lacrosse

Trying one more time to have a civil thread about girls 2028 lacrosse. Any conclusions to draw from this past weekend’s tournament results? Anyone frustrated with Pride/Stars not being at MidAtlantic?

My only conclusion is not to look last any opponent. Whether that be Coppermine with Hero’s, or Hero’s with Pride, etc. Many of these top 15 games turn on a few bounces of the ball. Some not, but don’t buy into the people posting that certain teams are beyond reach - especially if you are in the top 10.

Do the fall tournaments count with respect to rankings?

US Club Lax will usually update based on fall results. Nothing yet

Yes, the games are already listed on the us club lacrosse rankings site, just not tabulated yet.

My guess is nothing changes with the top 3.

There is almost an entire page and no one has offended anybody yet. I hope this can remain positive this time

Agreed.

Anyone looked at the Live Love Lax brackets yet? Predictions?

Welcome back to the folks actually wanted to discuss lacrosse.

US Club Lacrosse has a new 12 game minimum for rankings. Looks like it will be a few games into NGLL before some teams are ranked. Stars LB probably hit the threshold this Fall though.

I think the Pride Red crew was a little surprised to be all the way up in North East, MD while everyone else was at MidAtlantic, after two weekends of tough matchups against the top 10. Hard to draw conclusions from games against teams ranked #76 and #108 last year. And we learned that Pride is still better than 33rd ranked Syracuse Orange Crush, who they beat twice in July as well.

Looks like Stars LB is finding their range and has rallied from a tough opening tourney. Beating all the top B teams they have faced at Chesapeake and MidAtlantic, except MDU West (which is interesting based on comparative results). Does MDU West present a matchup issue? How are the new Stars pieces coming together?

I have learned the conventional wisdom on other forums is the 2028 year is exceptionally weak in talent. One poster on another forum went through a (weak) analysis of all the years from high schoolers down to the 2030s still wearing diapers and skipped right over the 2028s like they don't even exist. On the Visi forum they say Visi's larosse implosion does not matter to recruiting because there are no good 2028s to recruit.

Now that we have gotten back together and are not yet fighting, what's the deal with others saying the 2028s suck? Are they really attacking the parents, who are always lurking? Or have the girls rightly earned the reputation? I see plenty of talent on various local 2028 teams plus the girls from the MD teams, and I think as a group they will likely be as successful as any other year. What do you all think?

I need some clarification: are we talking 2028s nationwide, in MidAtlantic or limited to the DMV? Sounds like the person with the negative view may be basing it off DMV b/c of the Visitation comment. I have no idea if talent wise it is a weaker year, but as has been mentioned on the previous version of this thread, there are some really good players locally - particularly on the Pride team and some on Stars (this is not a knock on Stars I just think Pride has slightly more talent). If you watch the NGLL A division, I think the top MD teams have some excellent talent as well. Sounds to me like the comment about 2028’s was geared more at Visitation’s incoming class which I cannot speak to at all.

the 2028 grade has been way underrated. There is definitely talent. With some girls, it's just starting to come out.
