| We are making a concerted effort to eat more non-processed fish and meat (i.e. fresh chicken breast vs. hamburgers). We're noticing that if we leave the packaging and leftover trimmings in the trash for more than a day it smells horrible. We have a good trash can that keeps smells in, but opening the trash is vile. If you cook a lot of chicken and fish, are you taking out the trash every day? Feels like a waste as we usually only take trash out once a week. |
| Yes, we bag ours up in a grocery bag (instead of a large trash bag) to trash each day. |
| Keep the bags in a plastic bag in the freezer until trash day. |
m +1 duh! |
This is a great idea, thank you! |
| I'm a pescatarian and eat fish 2 to 3 times a week. I use a small plastic grocery store bag for packaging and trimmings, and then that goes to the outside trash immediately. |
| I also keep in the freezer until trash day, especially in the summer. |
| I put ours in a gallon ziplock, double bag it. |
Really, this never occurred to you? |
| Once a week?! Yes I take the trash out every other day. |
| All meat is processed. It helps if you rinse the packaging after taking the meat out of it. |
