Report cards in ParentVue

Marking period 1 report cards are now available under "Documents" on ParentVue (at least for my middle schooler and high schooler). I believe they're supposed to be sent home tomorrow.

I see them in ParentVUE for my kids. One thing I wish for MS/HS is that all teachers filled out the WSH column.

That is supposed to be required county-wide for all teachers, I think. I’d contact the admin to ask.

Uh, my kid's a junior and there's no way it's required. It seems like it's up to individual discretion of teachers.

Uh, my kid's a junior and there's no way it's required. It seems like it's up to individual discretion of teachers.

Maybe school based? I’ve been an MCPS teacher for a long time and we’re required at my school.

Our admin said it was only required for Ds, Es, and, if an honors class, a C. Most parents do not understand the info anyway. Every year, we get dozens of parent complaints that students got Cs WSH. It’s the highest “grade”!

I fill them out anyway, but I have very few parents who should follow up that bother to.

Middle school, sure. But you don’t have a 12th grader, do you? Many colleges require first quarter grades for EA and ED applications. My DC is a very diligent student but if any teacher had filled those out with anything neutral or negative, I’d be quite worried. I’m glad no one filled them out even positively because I’d also worry the colleges would wonder why some teachers rated highest and others didn’t rate at all. Seems like a minefield for teachers of 12th graders.
