Please don’t. This doesn’t involve you. |
I don't know. Stay out of it entirely would be a start? I mean nobody I know ever involved their parents in planning a proposal. |
They don't need help. |
This is insane that you'd feel like it's necessary to manage their proposal. Please don't. |
I'm not sure how anyone else could have made my DH's proposal any better. And I remember it perfectly well, despite there being no flash mob or confetti. |
Are there professional proposal planners like wedding planners? |
If the proposer can't come up with a proposal that would please the proposee, they aren't ready for the proposing.

+1 My husband’s proposal wasn’t spectacular in any way, but it was special and meaningful because it came from HIS heart. I don’t care how magnificent a proposal, if the idea and planning came from his mom or dad it would have been really weird and uncomfortable. If the prospective groom needs to recruit help to implement his plans, that’s different, but the inspiration needs to come from him. |
+1 DH’s proposal was amazing and it was probably the best day of my life aside from the births of our children. He came up with and executed it on his own and it was tailored to what he knew I would love. Stay out of it. |
This. Stay out! It will reflect very poorly on your child's adulting skills if they are perceived to need help with this. At all. |
Stop encouraging big proposals. It's about what he/she says and not how much he/she spends or where it is. |
Nothing kills the vibe more than finding out your MIL planned your proposal. |

I wouldn't help my son or daughter propose. If they can't figure that out themselves without coming to Mommy for ideas, they aren't mature enough to get married. They should be creative enough to come up with their own ideas, or at the very least resourceful enough to google ideas. |
