Verdict in
Guilty on all counts |
| Not surprising |

He sure seems to snowed Michael Lewis so I was a little concerned he might have come off as odd and inept to the jury but not guilty of fraud. Glad they didn’t fall for it

| Get his parents next. |

Frankly, the parents seem the true masterminds here.
As a parent, I find the whole think a little difficult to watch. SBF seems clearly guilty but at any point along the way the parents could have stepped in to question things or offer guidance (especially as it imploded) and instead they profited, knowingly letting their own child take on such risk. I can only imagine his upbringing...what a tragedy...also for so many who invested, obviously. |
| Too bad they offered deals to the other executives. Hopefully they all get at least a few years in jail |

They're economics professors. They should have stopped him. All the people involved are extremely weird and creepy. |
He’s not a kid. He’s Fing 30 year old man. |
Yeah what is up with Lewis? He’s all gushy about this “misunderstood kid genius”. His interview with Couric? People say SBF speaks to weave people in, but I’ve never seen him speak in any convincing way. I guess the disdain he had for others by playing video games in meetings as if he had so much mental energy he had to keep himself occupied in “unengaging” interviews. Narcissistic I suppose? |
| He's 30 now and yes I agree that is clearly adulthood. I'm just saying that if your late 20-something son or daughter started a business and a year later gave you a gift of $10million and a $16million dollar vacation home in Bermuda you wouldn't at least say "Hey, can we talk?". Instead, they took an "advisory" role for $200K+ which turned out to be an extraordinary salary for pretty awful advice as they ran the business accounting on Quicken |
I find the Lewis thing morbidly fascinating. Almost like Stockholm Syndrome or something. I've always wondered if SBF is somewhere on the spectrum - with the lack of eye contact, bouncing and playing video games. But maybe its just straight up narcissism. |
| The girlfriend got away with murder here. She has massive culpability and… nothing. |

Coverage of this story is pathetic, compared to the Bernie Madoff case:
Where are the stories about this people who lost their life savings? Where are the stories about how much money is still missing? Where are the stories about how many other crypto criminals are going to be prosecuted? Where are the stories addressing the range if possible prison sentences? Where are the stories about parent culpability? Very little ink being spilled on this vs. Madoff. Why? |
