foam injected insulation

Anonymous
Anyone have any experience with foam injected/injection insulation? A friend who does carpentry and other work recommended it to insulate our 3-season room. The goal is to insulate it enough that with a fan and/or wall AC/heat unit, it would be usable year-round. (Currently it is unbearable in summer and winter as the temperature is usually within a few degrees of whatever the outside temperature is.)

But our friend isn't local and couldn't recommend anyone to do the work. If you've had this done, what are your thoughts and who did you use?

Thanks!

I can't recommend anyone because we did it ourselves - we used this type of insulation when we finished off our basement. Our friend who remodels buildings for a living uses it exclusively.

Is it something you can buy at a hardware store, or did you have to rent special equipment?

If you're talking about spraying icynene into the walls, we had it sprayed into our attic. It is FABULOUS! Made a world of difference in the warmth of our second floor, which was just freezing and obviously leaking out a lot of heat. We did it a few years ago and I think we used AC&R Insulation, but I recall that there were only two companies to choose between at that point.
