Did you consider pressure-treated wood for your screened porch?

Wondering if we really need to go with Trex since the area will be covered. We plan to stay in the house for at least 10 more years and it would be a raised 12'x12' porch. Interesting in hearing how others decided to go with their material and what the cost difference was.

We did tongue in grove pine pressure treated for the screened porch floor and Trex for the deck and railings. The TIG is tighter than the trex and won’t require screening below to keep bugs out. We plan to stain it.

Was there a big cost difference? Or more if an aesthetic choice?

I don’t know what the cost difference was, our contractor recommended the TIG for the porch and trex for the deck. Said we didn’t need to spend $$ for the trex since it was covered. We also have Sunspace windows so rain doesn’t get in. I think it looks better, more like a real room since there are no gaps in the floors.

We did T&G Ipe.

I like the feel of wood under my feet more than the feel of Trex... so we have TIG wood.

Do tile, trust me you don't want Holes or gaps

What did you decide OP? We can’t do tile because it’s a raised porch.

There are systems for inside to isolate the movement to protect the tiles from breaking. Does the same thing not exist for exterior? (Especially screened in)
