The "eu" is NOT pronounced OO. It's like the sound of "peu" (French for a little). (French major here!)

Not OP and never took french. So how the heck do you pronounce the "eu" if not OO? I have no clue how to pronounce "peu."

Right, so if you are writing it phonetically in English so that a non-French speaker can approximate, that is close enough.
