Would love gift ideas for a food lover who never buys anything for herself. For example I gave her Penzey’s spices and she loved them.
She lives in a very remote area and I’d love to send her something special. Any ideas? |
| Really excellent Italian specialties. Visit olio2go.com. |
| Goldbelly.com is where you want to look. |
| Definitely Goldbelly! |
This! |
| Oh god, not goldbelly. I’m a foodie and would be so offended by that. Get high quality olive oil and balsamic. It makes a noticeable difference. |
Thank you! Anyone who likes Goldbelly just likes spending a ton on garbage. I got a $100 gift certificate to Goldbelly once and I ended up donating it to an auction because I literally couldn't find anything worth buying for what it cost. |
| Malden sea salt, jar of Aleppo pepper, heilala vanilla bean paste, kishibori soy sauce, Wilkins and sons lemon curd, gianetti artisans pistachio butter, Calabrian chilis in a jar, my shuk preserved lemons, Russ & daughters smoked salmon |
. Have to agree. Think high-quality ingredients are much better. |
| OP calls her a food lover, not a home chef. I’d use different approaches, based on whether she likes to cook and isn’t afraid to work with exotic ingredients versus she just likes to eat, but doesn’t cook. |

| Salty wahine spices. Gave these to my entire family one year to mixed responses like wtf is this and such but the next year and when they all ran out they were asking for more |
| Love these suggestions! Please keep them coming as I have a lot of food lovers on my holiday list. |
If she loved Penzey’s, she probably cooks. Thanks for the Salty Wahine suggestion, PP, that one’s interesting! Might have to buy for my relatives who used to live in Hawaii. |
| If they live in a remote area, I would go to an Asian or Hispanic market and buy a bunch of different spices and condiments. |
