Fletcher.

Not a fan. What would be the nickname--Fletch, like the Chevy Chase movie?
Anonymous
I don't really like it...

Not my favorite. Sounds very prep school, and not in a good way. And as PP said, I instantly think of Fletch.
Anonymous
Yep, I also think Fletch. I don't HATE it, but I don't really like it either.

Retcher. Retch. Instanteous...bad association.

Just has a bad sound.

Not a fan - at all.

Fan. I really like it and would probably consider it for our son if our last name didn't end in an er. People on this forum have mocked our DS name every time it's come up so I have learned that we don't all have similar tastes.

I don't hate it. I don't see a problem with Fletch as a nickname either. Once your child is at an age where they own their name (say age 10), it's really a nice name. It sounds maybe a little manufactured for a toddler, but once you hit a certain age, I think it will be a nice name for a boy.

Don't love, but don't hate, either.

17:53 poster here again. Should also say I know 3 men named Fletcher. They go by Fletch on occasion and I never once thought of that movie mentioned. Just think it's a very cute name.

Terrible. Really really bad. don't do the surname first name thing.

By the way, for those that think it sounds "posh, upper-crust, or classy"--not any more. Names trickle down from higher socioeconomic stratas, and the whole "Connor, Logan, Mason Lastnameasfirstname/familname" thing screams middle class at best now. If that's what you want, that's fine, as long as you know.

I guess I'm in the minority here, it's not my name style but I think it's nice and I don't have the negative associations others have mentioned above.
