I read an interesting perspective that postulated the lower middle class republicans like his personality - they identify with the ball cap, the poor English, of course the blaming of the “Other” for everything wrong with their lives. Part of the “”Other” is the “out of touch liberal elites” and Trump’s appeal is that he is opposite of that, and is hated by them, which is added plus.

Our lives should not get dragged to the gutter because of all the utter stupidity of the Trump voters.

If the economy comes back by spring/summer next year, his numbers could change. The question is whether the Dems will have a platform other than “we aren’t Trump” and will people trust them by then.

Both party’s candidates need to show they are not puppets controlled behind the scenes like the wizard of Oz or deep state.

The irony is that MAGA are the elites. For all of their "image" with Trump rallies in rural areas, MAGA voters have higher incomes, demographically speaking, as well as in their chosen leaders. MAGA is the elite swamp, and their policies, in general, do not help the average joe American.

Yes. And they are all holding their breath for the tax cuts. Once Trump signs his budget bill they will be done with him.

After living through this cult of personality, Americans might just want quiet, competent leadership, which is how the Chief Executive was originally intended in the Constitution.

The Dems have nothing. It is like they dod not exist. Last week there were two dem elected US officials arrested because they were democrats, political assassinations of elected democrats, US military arresting US civilians in the US, FBI assaulting a senator and Trump started a war for Israel. These are just a few of the things Trump did in one week.

Where are the democrats? Have not heard anything from Schumer and the leadership. Oh wait didn’t they kick someone out of the party to protect their safe seats?

People will stay home vs vote for democrats who will maybe if you are lucky write a weak letter complaining about something.

They'll still do well in the midterms. The question is not whether they'll take the House. That's given. The question is whether they'll take the Senate. A leader or leaders would be a nice-to-have but are not necessary. Yet.

And why would they? With the billions of dollars rolling in each election cycle and 99% of the national electorate carelessly voting for their candidates no matter how awful they are, what would be the impetus for change?

Based on the financial support they receive from their mega-donors and the loyal support they receive from voters, these two major political parties must feel like the most popular entities in the world.

i’m still waiting to hear about any Republican policy that will help every day Americans dealing with expensive healthcare cost, rising food costs, housing costs/housing shortages.
