I understand what you mean, OP, but then consider that all my friends from Central or South America are wealthy white Caucasian landowners from the upper echelons of their society. Do you think they're part of the oppressors or the oppressed? You bet they check the Hispanic box, and without lying at all.
If you're from Spain, it's just as ethically dubious as what they're doing. It's like everyone and their ChatGPT mother editing their kids' college essay drafts. Is it wrong if it's allowed, and a plurality (or majority) of people are doing the same thing? I have no answer to this question, but I just want to tell you: the system is wrong. Whatever you choose to do, I don't think you carry any moral blame. |
