Arlington Aquatics Club for non-Arlington Resident?

Anonymous
Hello! I am interested in AAC for my daughter. It is the closest to my daughter's school, but we are not Arlington residents. Do non-residents get a spot? I would be looking at their 2x a week programs for a beginning 7 yo competitive swimmer.

Sign ups aren't until June. There are no spots for this winter.

Thanks I know that sign up are next summer. I am checking to see if it's even worth her trying out next summer or if we should start looking at other clubs that might have sign ups or developmental now. Thanks

This should be in the swim program. Yes, you can join as a non-County member. They have kids that live in DC, Loudoun, Maryland, Burke, etc that all swim with AAC.

I would choose a pool close to your home if you can and I personally would not wait a whole year. Sign her up for a club that will take her now, you can then get assessed next summer if you want to join AAC.

Their lower level groups are not that strong. You do better finding a club like York that focuses more on the younger swimmers. AAC does well with transfers and some of its more elite competitive groups which tends to be its focus.

This, get her in a program now if you can. Most clubs offer two days a week for a kid at that age.

Search here for clubs with practice pools near you: https://www.pvswim.org/pvs_club.htm
