Bleeding between periods

Anonymous
My last period, which was normal, ended 8/8. On 8/16 I started spotting, which is not normal. I mean some cycles I have a tiny bit of ovulation bleeding, but not enough to even warrant a panty liner. I’ve continued to spot since last Wednesday, and it’s gotten progressively heavier so that today I’m bleeding enough to warrant my usual light day period coverage. There was a small clot earlier today. I’ve never had midcycle bleeding before. I didn’t have my usual PMS symptoms.

I called my doctor and scheduled the first available appointment - in 2 weeks. I’m looking for some peace of mind in the interim. I’m 46. This is most likely hormonal right? Just the joys of perimenopause? Google is not my friend here (though it did let me know to call my doctor) so I’m just looking for positive, this is no big deal kid if reassurance. Thank you!

When that happened to me, my OB ordered an ultrasound and it turned out to be a uterine polyp. If your cycles are still regular, it's probably not perimenopause. Although really it's not possible for anyone to tell you what's going on until you see your doctor. Just chill out and wait for that appointment.

Could be a fibroid.

46? Most likely peri but could be fibroids, polyp or peri I have ALL 3 fun times! Don't stress about it.
