As we get ready for another school year in MCPS, what are folks looking forward to? There have to be some positives

| Is MCPS paying you to be Positive Patty here on this forum? |
| Fun post! I’d like to see everyone in the compliance office cleared out including Michaele Simmons and edmundson |
| My kid likes school more than the summer. She's excited to get back, and I'm excited for her. |
| Getting back to a routine. My son is 15 and his schedule is a mess. |

The new elementary ELA curriculum and burning Benchmark.
Wait for it... |

Okay, well I'm a special ed teacher and I'm looking forward to getting to know my new students, setting up my room, and working on some new initiatives we have at our school. I like my school and my co-workers and my admin. The BEST part of my job is working with students.

My kid goes to Magruder and while the old principal was fine, I am super excited about our new acting principal. He seems very proactive in addressing a large number of ongoing concerns. Communication has improved significantly. The new career counselor seems fabulous. I am hopeful the principal invests in staff AND students and really brings some much needed school spirit. |
| I'm looking forward to my children being one year closer to being done with this toxic hellhole. |
Our kids are seniors. So far, I’ve been very happy with the senior advising. One is in the MC2 program and will take only college courses this year, but is still getting support about the four year school application process. |
You sound like a nightmare |
| I'm looking forward to some of the clubs I sponsor kicking off again. The clubs are usually fully run by students, but last year the leadership of one big club just collapsed and I had to step in to engage the underclassmen in club functions. Looking forward to mentoring them this year to re-organize and rebuild the club. |
| I'm looking forward to my kid's high school's spring musical (Mamma Mia!). |
| Looking forward to a steady schedule (love the summer but ready for regularity), last year of elementary for my youngest, helping my middle schooler with Algebra, maybe some school softball, the weather turning cooler, and the (false) promise that this year I will be more organized with our schedules. |
