| I hate disgusting summer. Today I am declaring that it is late fall. I’ve drawn all the curtains in my bedroom, lit candles, and am watching old 90s movies and even YouTube videos from months or years ago with wintery backdrops. DH is making dinner and I don’t plan on coming out of my room for anything else. |

Sounds wonderful! Enjoy.
I decided to nvest in the 1 sq inch of blue sky that emerged in the last hour. Put on my suit and sunglasses, and am sitting by the nearly empty pool, having just floated around happily with no one splashing me. Hope everyone finds their own happy zone today. |
| Sounds fine to me except candles. Lighting candles when it’s 90 and humid out sounds really unappealing to me, even with AC. |
NP, and agree. But I still get you, OP. For the life of me, I don't understand how summer = fun. What on earth is fun about doing things in this weather??????? Give me a 50 degree day and a 10 mile hike, and I'm game. Right now it's sit in my robe indoors kinda time. |
| That sounds amazing OP. I hate summer too. |
| I'm planning out how to decorate the house for Halloween. |
|
Candles increase indoor air pollution.
But I'm with you on eagerly awaiting the fall. Summer is horrible. |
| This reminds me how Starbucks breaks out their Pumpkin Spice Lattes, and conjures images of 20-something white girls in Ugg boots and leggings on September 1.... when it typically is still 90 degrees out. |
| OP here. I capped it all off with an edible. This was a really good day. |
| It’s been raining early all day here but still warm. Nevertheless I also pretended it was a nice fall day perfect for cooking and so I made a wonderful sundried tomato and spinach quiche and also a lamb stew. Now I’ve got lovely food for the next few days without effort beyond firing up the toaster oven or microwave. Yay! |
| This has been a muggy few weeks. I typically love summer and I can’t stand this weather. |

As a kid, I loved sunshine ☀️ so much.
Back then, heat + humidity didn’t phase me as much as it does now in middle-age. Summer is the worst season ever for me. At least when it is cold outdoors I have relief in that I have access to indoor heating. However during the brutal summer heat - I have no access to indoor air-conditioned comfort. My friend just visited me from San Francisco & I got so jealous when she confided in me that the summers are not humid at all and the temperature outdoors rarely gets above 70 degrees this time of year. Guess that is why people pay so much to live there when the homeless crisis is so rampant. 🌉 |
I'm still figuring out my house zones and my one room was so chilly with the extreme heat outdoors as I was trying to get all the rooms just bearable and not waste energy... anyway it was chilly and I made cocoa
