PVS 12U at Claude Moorw

Do we have to do this meet at Claude Moore every year? Is it the same team organizing each year? It’s a mess every time. Last year they didn’t even have shirts. This year they somehow managed to find the most dysfunctional disorganized printing company. NEVER use TBS Impressions people.

The pool spectating area is terrible. Plus it’s so far away from most PVS teams.

Based on the PVS schedule LC champs is at UMD next year, thank God. My favorite part of yesterday was that they didn’t have any air circulating in the spectator area for the 11-12 session until the very end when a someone went to the front desk to ask about it, got told of course we have it on, and then 5 minutes later the air (hot but at least it was something) clicked on. We didn’t attempt the shirt vendor because other parents said it was a mess. Oh yeah, and parents were told to stand outside until the volunteer slots were full, except Claude Moore has a front entrance so people were just ignoring that and going in through the front.

My wife just called me and was like what the hell is wrong with the shirt vendor. They have no mock ups, and if you order a shirt they want you to pick it up the next day. She said they are terrible.

UMD pool is under repair this year, unfortunately.

I don’t think they turned on the air for the 11/12 session today either.

That's always where it was when my kid did it.

It definitely was last year, so I was pleasantly surprised when I looked at next year’s schedule and saw that it’s going to be at UMD. My DD and her teammates are also glad that it’s going to be at UMD, they love that pool.

UMD is the best pool to watch a meet. Who cares if parking is a little tricky.

Just experienced TBD IMPRESSIONS and tried to buy a shirt. Wow! What a disaster. People ordered on Thursday and shirts still weren’t ready, orders were wrong, no youth sizes. Absolute chaos.

I think it might have been the worst ordering experience I’ve ever had. They promised the order 3 different times over 48 hours.

Having long course champs at Claude Moore just makes it feel so blah….

Short course champs at UMD just have a different vibe to them and feel like a real championship meet

Long course champs are pretty ho hum

This is true no matter the location, LC season just isn’t the same.

I will say it doesn’t get any better for the older kids. Fewer of them attend, many scratch finals, people are working around summer league schedules. The big travel meets are pretty good, but local PVS meets are blah.

The best club swimmers are not scratching finals and “working around” summer league schedules. Summer is rec league, when it comes down to the choice between summer swim and a PVS meet, the best swimmers prioritize the PVS meets.
