| Private pool and back yard party — teenagers but want to make a little nice |
|
So how many people? And for what part of the day?
And these are all teenagers? How "nice" do you want it to be. |
|
40-50 — yes, only a few adults
Not sure. Not something too heavy. Summer — maybe meat skewers, fruits, guacamole — i guess soft tacos is one way to go with non alcohol sangria Daughter is Chinese and also am thinking alternately that she might like us ti get a variety of dumplings and noodles and meats and veggies … But also want to make it attractive presentation |
| Oh and late afternoon- evening near a private pool, nice backyard |
|
All these are disconnected. Teenagers + pool party+ Chinese food = casual + laid back + fun
Most good Chinese places are not about nice presentation. Charcuterie boards add some fanciness and a dessert bar are easy ways to have fancy presentations. |
Charcuterie board lady strikes again. |
| I've been to some parties catered by Ridgewells and they have all been great! They have many menu options, so you could definitely have them include some dumplings or other Chinese or Chinese-inspired items. |

I would do catering trays from a restaurant as a buffet, and if you think you need extra help hire a couple people from Party Hands. I think full blown catering or passed food will feel weird for a kid’s party.
You could do tacos, Chinese food, whatever. And cupcakes or cookies or whatever dessert she likes from whatever place. I would definitely consider also getting rental tables, linens and chairs, but you can do that from a party rentals place, you don’t need to go through a caterer. |
| Guapos does a nice taco catering spread, if you want to go that route. |
| Just do a taco bar from District Taco- they do a nice job with catering. So does Taco Bamba. |

We've done the Uncle Julio's family platters and taco platters for teens, and that works pretty well. I'd also put out a big fruit platter.
But I think if she wanted to do Chinese food, that would be great and most teens would really enjoy. No good suggestions but I bet there are a bunch of the places in Rockville that could do this. Maybe a cold noodle dish if it's going to be hot/outside, plus dumplings, and maybe something like moo shoo that you can do in the little pancakes. I'd also do a big fruit platter. Whatever you get, plan for the fact that a bunch of the teens will be vegetarian. |
