Vacation destination in March with multiple families

Anonymous

Trying to plan a vacation in March with my siblings and their families, and the grandparents. Ages range from 3-73. What are your favorite vacations for something like this?

Pick an all inclusive in the Caribbean. I love Moon Palace Grande in Jamaica and the Grande in Cancun. Lots to do and great food. Everyone will be happy and there’s no fussing over who is paying for what.

What activities does your family enjoy at these resorts? Would you recommend these places for a family with teenagers?

DP- we enjoy sitting on the beach while being served, enjoying a cocktail or non-cocktail beverage by the pool while watching the kids play, active family members go out for a sail or paddleboard, some of us go to a spa, some play tennis or basketball. Our teens are happy in the water and don’t need 1000 activities, but they do enjoy when we do the activities together as well.

OP, FWIW, we hated the Grande in Cancun. It was like a cruise ship on land. Tons of people, crazy crowds for everything, and with a large group (we had 3 families with teens), it was next to impossible to make dinner reservations together, even when we split up as adults/kids. Also, the activities were geared much more towards younger kids than teens. There is one mildly decent waterslide that the teens liked, but it had a height requirement, so the younger teen girls could not go on it (even though they were 13). Also, the liquor/beer selection was terrible. We were there at Christmas, and they only had Corona and shelf liquor (no name brands). We all said we'd never go back.

In March, Arizona is perfect. Gorgeous weather, lots to do for all ages and activity levels. You could plan a trip that includes a few stops like Grand Canyon and Sedona, or just plant yourselves at a beautiful resort like the Phoenician in Scottsdale.
