I am in a FB group about FCPS special ed and the big question is has anyone been reimbursed from FCPS for tutoring or other services they paid for during the pandemic? If I am to believe the FG group- lots of families of submitted for reimbursement and told they were getting reimbursed but no one has received a check. So thought I would ask here- anyone gotten money yet?

What? No. |
I am assuming there will be a report in a few months about how no family was reimbursed even though it was part of the agreement with Department of Education. We should have a bet going on what month. I say October. |
I don’t think anyone has. I heard the contract changed and they had to hire someone new. The delay is ridiculous. |
Teachers have until June 14 to complete the compensatory meetings. There’s no delay. |
We had our meeting in March and have heard nothing since then |
Many meetings have already been held - some was months ago. There is no reason to wait to reimburse until ever meeting is finished. |
If you have a question, just email to the address provided on the website:

I wonder how many need to be reimbursed. |
Will this email address help if you disagree with an IEP team decision? |
What contract? |
Why would you be reimbursed for tutoring? |
because my child has an IEP and FCPS did not give her any of the required services from her IEP for almost a year. We paid out of pocket which is fine but FCPS offered to reimburse us so I did not turn them down. I intend to donate the money to a organization who helps parents struggling with special needs kids. But I also believe- FCPS will never send me a check. They are so shady and so awful to the special education families. |
Not all meetings are done. |
Yes. You can get information about your procedural rights. |
