ISO Writing tutor

My 6th grader has always struggled with writing and the recent MCPS test scores that came home have proven this. We want to hire a tutor to work with him to improve the quality of his writing. Would be happy for in person or zoom. Any recommendations for someone? We are in bethesda if that helps. Thanks for any help!

No direct experience yet but she was recommended in the SN forum. I spoke with her about her 2 week summer intensive program. I’m going to give it a go. My kids issue is getting the thoughts out of his head and onto paper. He knows the mechanics and has the vocabulary but just can’t seem to execute.

Rachel Cederbaum is excellent. She started her own company and now has a solid team of many MCPS teachers working for her. I can also vouch for Joyce Khouri and Jess Bello.

Then you are in luck. She’s really good! If you can’t identify her easily, her initials are TR.

Teachers can’t tutor students at their own school under the ethics rules. There’s an exception for CARES tutoring and a few other programs.
