Highland View ES - anyone with info on the feasibility study?

Anonymous
I understand there is talk about adding an additional classroom at Highland View and/or making renovations. Does anyone know what exactly has been proposed or the projected timeline? Also, will it impact any boundaries?

I thought the feasibility study was on the school website, but I just checked, and I don't see it there. My understanding from the open house, is that the expansion would take the place of existing trailers. So, even though HVES is a fairly small school in terms of numbers (fewer than 350 students k-5), the current student body is larger than the premises can handle. I heard nothing about re-drawing the boundaries though. I know some families in the New Hampshire Estates pocket east of Flower Ave wish those boundaries would be redrawn.

PP here again - I also recall the principal saying that the setting of the school poses some architectural challenges. I guess there is not a lot of space around the school, and it is sort of built into the side of a hill. You probably won't get many responses. I don't see many Highland View references on DCUM, maybe because it is so small (11th smallest school in the district).

Thank you for your responses. You don't happen to know if they've given a projected time line, do you? Or maybe it's too early to even assume the project will launch given the difficulties presented by the geography.
