How did Capitalism fail and give us Tonie Boxes

My kid LOVES the concept. The little figures. The easy to control box (except for the track skipping process, wtf).

But for gods sake.

The Disney figurines have COVERS. The only thing more annoying than a song that’s been drilled into your skull is a SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT VERSION OF THAT SONG.

No prob, right? You can buy blank figurines and load your own music. Sure, if you want to buy and download the songs and then find the mp4 or whatever it is on your computer and upload it to a website like you’re adding sounds to your Anglefire Homepage.

Did you want to link this stupid, WiFi connected thing to a Spotify playlist or anything easy and useful? KICK ROCKS.

Why is this happening? It’s gotta be a patent and music law thing right? Can some high powered dcum lawyer please fix it?

I am honestly tempted to glue those little phone command reader discs to some toys and stick an old phone to the top of a Bluetooth speaker.

I don't think my kid notices that the songs are sung by different people on the Tonie Box version. It's close enough.

What I love about the Tonies is that my kid listens to them in her room on her own instead of in our living room or in the car, which means I don't have to hear Let it Go 700x a day.

I am annoyed, however, that the cost of individual tonies went up to $18 instead of $14 like they used to be. I hope we can sell her tonie and all the little figurines for a decent sum once she's outgrown them because the damn tonies cost almost as much as a vinyl record.

I love the Tonie box! Best purchase ever for my 4-year-old with ADHD who needs a little help settling down.

Oh no, I bought junk for my kids and it's junk.

While you’re at it OP, can you get it so they don’t start over at the first song every.single.time. We have probably 25 tonies and I’ve only heard the first or second song on every one of them.

Have you not figured out how to skip to the next song? Even my child knows how to do this.

Sorry you cannot read the instructions for the toy you bought.

It’s not that easy to do. You have to whack it so hard the toy falls off.
