Best DC restaurants with a fantastic view (water or monuments)

Anonymous
Family coming into town that have never been to DC. We will do the tourist things Saturday afternoon, but looking for an upscale restaurant with excellent tasting food and a fantastic view. Water views are preferred. Everyone eats steak and seafood. I did some preliminary searches and came up with the following list. Please give me your thoughts or make other suggestions. Thank you. (DC ONLY)

Due South
Ana at District Winery
The Salt Line
Mi Vida
La Vie
Del Mar de Fabio Trabaccio
Osteria Morini

Sequoia
Fiola Mare

Del Mar sucked when we went. Food sub par for that restaurant group.

I thought I would get additional responses since everyone seems to go to nice restaurants on this forum. I guess I'll just check some reviews and decide based on the menu.

You are welcome! A friend + I had lunch at Sequoia today. It was a lovely day and I had a great lobster + shrimp salad . It was great. We both work remotely so it was nice to get out.

DC only and water views-try the Kennedy Center. If you're doing the metro your group can get off at Foggy Bottom and ride the Kennedy Center shuttle bus. Terrace level and main level have vast outdoor spaces and views. Same for the Reach.

Of the choices you listed, my favorite is the Salt Line. Del Mar is hit or miss. I’ve been to Mi Vida but don’t recall having a nice view and it seemed more like a party atmosphere than a place to catch up with family.
I also recommend the rooftop at Oficina at the Wharf.
