Hi - what is the best way to this? Can you use a regular vacuum followed by disinfectant? I have found a company that uses a special HEPA vacuum followed by hospital-grade disinfectant. One of the things they say is that using a conventional vacuum can release virus particles from the droppings into the air.

Is using this kind of service worth the cost? It seems like the pathogens carried by rodent feces (including hantavirus) are quite rare in the DMV.
