We went mattress shopping this weekend and the sales person encouraged us to consider the adjustable platform instead of a box spring. I’ve only ever owned box springs. I’m worried about the longevity of the adjustable bed and wear and r]tear on the mattress. Thoughts? |
I love love love my adjustable bed. Maybe had it 8-9 years and its held up really well. Mattress has been fine - latex and the bed is starting to show some wear but I'd buy another one if it needs replacing. |
Dou you adjust it for your sleeping position or for watching tv and reading in bed? |
We don't have a tv in our bedroom. I usually only sleep in the bedroom except when sick. I always adjust it a little when my husband is in bed with me as he doesn't like it that high and when he's not in bed, I adjust it pretty high. |
Most mattresses are rated for use with adjustable beds, but make sure yours is as damage may otherwise occur.
An adjustable bed can be helpful if you ever have GERD symptoms, or your back bothers you and you benefit from bending and raising your legs. They are heavy and expensive, though. |
