Did your kids get a lot of birthday invites this year?
DD1 - 4 DD2 - 1 Just wondering! ( elem ) |
| Wow your kids must be lame. |
| Same as every other year. Actually I take that back, didn’t get invited to one we normally do, but DS didn’t have a party either. |
| That looks about right. Some we used to go to didn't do parties this year. |
| I think DS got 5 or 6. He is in 3rd so the parties are selective now and not whole class. |
|
Older DD is in 3rd and I think she was invited to only 3-4 (kids are being very selective and have smaller parties (including my DD)
Younger DD in 1st has had too many to count (maybe 10-12)? It’s never ending… one more this week and another next week. DS is 4 and ha/ had maybe 6-7? |
| dS is 2. He only got 1 invite. |
And we declined 🤣 |

My 8 year old has been to only 2 bday parties since the school year started but most of his friends are summer bdays. He went to 4-5 parties last summer I think. He’s in 2nd grade and all the parties in the past year have been 8-10 kids or so instead of whole class parties like they did when he was younger.
My 6 year old has been to 5-6 parties this school year. She’s in k. It’s been about 1/2 whole class parties and 1/2 smaller groups of kids invited. |
|
4th grader. Definitely fewer this year than years prior. I think she's been invited to 5 (2 are family friends, 3 are classmates)
Didn't seem to be any more all class parties this year. |
| We had a ton in February and March. |
|
Are you talking classmate parties or all parties?
My daughter got invited to 4 class parties. She probably got invited to another 5-6 family friend parties so around 10. My son got invited to 7-8 school parties and maybe 2-3 family friend parties. My oldest is in middle school and he has been invited to 3-4 birthdays. They were all small birthday celebrations. |
| My 1st grader has not been invited to a single party this year. I just realized it recently, and it made me sad. I assume parties are happening but my shy child just isn’t one of the 5-10 close friends being invited. |
| 1st grade, 4 parties (all were all-class) so far this year. Honestly - I think a lot of people aren’t having big parties anymore. People will more do stuff like take the kid out of town for their birthday, or take just 1 friend out for a movie or something. |
| 6-7 for my first grader. About half whole class parties, half small group parties. |
