Montgomery Blair Math Tournament 8 was yesterday
https://mbmt.mbhs.edu/ Strong performances from Clemente, Eastern, Frost, Pyle, Tilden, Wood and probably TPMS and others (some teams used names not related to their school name). |
| Where are the results? Did I miss them on that link? |
|
Wow! I love that the contest is organized and executed by the Blair Math Team.
It's awesome that MCPS has so many kids who are so great at Math. |
| I'm the PP and if anyone has a link to the results, I would love to see that. I have a MS kid at one of the schools the OP listed. |
|
Results are never officially posted.
People who attended can share data if they took notes. Uppwr division Top 5 teams: Burleigh Manor Alpha STEM hot cheetoh kitty cat(?) Thank you! I love the Hot Cheeto Kitty Cat team name.
I’m assuming Junior Division is 6th and 7th grade? Good for Wood and Frost! Some upcoming math talent. |

If you know a student who is underserved and desires extracurricular math education, please make a top level post. There is a great supply of free and scholarship resources available, made possible by the parents and governments and others who pay excellent educators to create and publish material.
MCPS and boosters, who funded this free event including food and t-shirts for students all over MoCo and beyond, deserve our gratitude. The Blair students did an incredible job running a big event smoothly, with only 1 adult leading them. Unfortunately, 1 parent had to be excused from the event for poor behavior. I'm sure we at DCUM can empathize. BTW, the event had a guest speaker who said that ChatGPT will make cram schools and raw knowledge obsolete, in favor of creativity and real world contributions and achievement. So we can stop worrying about that. |

Really? What could have been the poor behavior????? |
Only TPMS 6th graders are allowed to participate in the lower division and although I could be wrong, only 7th and 8th graders participated. |
| tpms sent about 6 teams, all in upper division, and they are organized by free will, not by rank (just like every other math competition they participated except mathcounts). |
