Snap benefits letter

Anyone else get one they doesn’t qualify for them? Do these date from the free school meals during the pandemic? I seem to recall getting one of these once before…

The pandemic emergency allotment that provided families additional monthly SNAP benefits are ending. DSS is sending standard letters to all SNAP households.

Yep. We’re in APS and received it. We make way to much to be eligible.

We're not a SNAP household but got a letter. So it went to all VA school families who used the free lunches during the pandemic?

We were sent a card during the pandemic. A couple of weeks later we were notified that we weren’t actually eligible for these benefits (which we hadn’t asked for or applied for or anything). We discarded the card. We got the “not eligible” letter yesterday as well. I assume they’re casting a wide net.

Same here, except yesterday’s letter said something like “your benefits haven’t been used in X months and will be expunged.”
We didn’t use them because we weren’t actually supposed to have them, it turned out.

Same for us. I remember a kerfuffle when they were sent out originally and then people were told not to use them and toss the card if they didn’t qualify and the benefits would be cancelled. I guess this mailing went to all of the original recipients.

We live in PWC and did not get this letter.
We had two kids that received free lunches during the pandemic--not because we qualified for SNAP (we didn't/don't) but because the entire school district (entire state?) went to 100% free lunch. No students were allowed to pay.

Free meals for school-age kids during the pandemic is different from the emergency SNAP allotment but maybe the letter is going out broadly just to be sure.
