I know this is pretty random but I am gradually getting back into running and have really enjoyed a couple books that are light and feature a character who enjoys running. Just finished “The Saturday Morning Park Run” by Jules Wake which was good for where I’m at emotionally right now (having some difficul personal things at the moment so definitely looking for books to be light/escapist)
Thanks! |
I had no idea! Thank you- OP |

Wow! Great lists! Thanks for sharing.

| Brittany Runs a Marathon |
This was what I came here to say. Born to run is a great book but not chick lit. Nora goes off script does run but it’s not the central theme. |
This is OP- Brittany runs a marathon looks like it’s a movie too, is that any good? I loved Nora goes off script and that level of “character enjoying running” works for me too…. |
I liked the movie. It wasn’t bad and it wasn’t great. It was fine. |
| Amazing that good reads has a list for everything! I commend you PP for using reading as your escape during the hard times. I definitely fall into the trap of spending too much time on the internet and feeling worse, so I hope to be more like you. |
This is OP - you can do it! Downloading the kindle app and giving myself permission to buy/borrow ebooks to have available when I’m tempted to doom scroll has been one of my best decisions in the past few years. I read very little social media or news anymore though I do come on DCUM still - it’s just helpful enough to keep me coming back! |
| Lol, the only book that came to mind is Golden Girl by Elin Hilderbrand (yes, I have a dark sense of humor). It’s a good book, though! |
| Lynn cahoon’s cozy mystery Tourist trap series has a main character who likes to run, usually on the beach with her dog. |
Thank you! |
| Nora Goes off Script has a bit of running in it - the main character jogs. |
