You should be tracking this concern. Just sayin’ |
Seriously, check the teacher licensure, check the teachers, demand at least weekly accountability . Note the copied and pasted report/ progress cards. |
There are lots of provisionally licensed SPED teachers in our local districts, no other way to staff the programs. IAs are being pulled to sub frequently, with no additional pay or training. SPED in this country is a house of cards about to fall. |
Is there a reason you're specifically calling out ASFS in your heading? Truly curious if it's a particular problem there. |
This isn't a teacher issue. This is systemic- there aren't enough qualified teachers and there are no subs. Checking a teacher's license will do nothing. |
What's the link show? I don't have instagram so it's empty for me |
I am sorry you expect a complete narrative on your child every quarter. I am an APS teacher and I do copy and paste part of my comments which detail what we have learned during the quarter. That is the same for everyone. Then I add a few sentences specific to that child depending on what I want to convey.

You are the exception. Not the rule. |
Was wondering the same thing. That’s not an asfs classroom it’s being filmed in so not sure. |
its not even in APS. |
The video was from AZ/NM I think?
OP seems to be implying that the same thing happens in APS when SPED teachers are out. I wouldn't be surprised given the teacher/substitute shortage. |
When SPED teachers are out, the sub might be an IA, the SBS or a per-diem sub. One can't expect to have a roster of SPED certified subs for those days. |
If we are lucky we get one of those as a sub. They have to cover general education and specials teacher absences first, then IF there are additional subs, the special education teacher will be covered. |
