Can anyone recommend a math practice book or series of books that we can use at home during the summer? DD needs to review some concepts from MCPS 4th grade math, specifically geometry-related work concerning perimeter, area and volume and the formulas to find them.
Thanks! |
Kumon has a 4th grade geometry and measurement workbook (available at Borders). |
Thanks! |
Try visiting the website for Oakland Terrace Elementary (an MCPS school). They have an award winning website that is full of great links.
http://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/schools/oaklandes/ Look at the left side of the page and click on the "websites" icon. From there, click on "Grade 4" and you'll see MANY links to the material covered in the 4th grade units. The links are categorized by units. There are five math units in the 4th grade MCPS curriculum. Perimeter, area, and volume are covered in Unit 5. Try it out! I think you'll find it a useful site ![]() |
DS's class used mathmastery.com to supplement their Everyday Math program. He also enjoyed using it at home to reinforce multiplication and division facts. |
Thanks for the recommendations, everyone!
I got the Kumon books and they look great. Will also check out the websites mentioned. |
