cannot decide between the oyster gray and pewter grey. I really like charcoal but DH says too dark of a color. House is white/ off white painted hardiplank. The roofing company highly suggested pewter grey but it looks bluish to me in sample photos. If you have pewter grey does it lean blue? Thanks! |
Ask if you can view a sample board. Even better, our GC purchased one package of each color and laid them on the roof so we could compare prior to making a decision.
From the photos I still have of the sample board, the colors used in Oyster and Pewter appear identical but the proportions are different (i.e., Oyster has more of the lighter, blue-gray pieces whereas Pewter has more of the darker, browner pieces, and both have even less of the same very dark pieces). We ended up choosing a different color, so I can’t tell you what an entire roof is like. Sorry. |
You can only tell Oyster gray and pewter gray apart if they’re next to each other. pewter gray is just a little bit darker and will probably look better in the long run when the algae protection stops working in 10 to 15 years.
Charcoal is by far the most popular color and is totally classic but depending on the slope of your roof it might be a little too heavy on a White House. Maybe give an address of a house that looks like yours and we’ll let you know a good color. |
