Carb:fiber ratio - dumb math question

Anonymous
Okay I obviously wasn't a math major so please be kind. I'm supposed to prioritize foods with a 5:1 carb to fiber ratio (or lower) . But what does this mean in practice?

I think it means if I divide carbs by fiber and the result is 5 or less, that's good. Right? So 15:12 is great?

Yes, but it will be easier to do the math in your head if you think of taking the fiber # and multiplying by 5 and if carbs are at or below that result - you’re good. If something gives you 2 g of fiber per serving there should be 10g of carb total or less in the same size serving.
