I've been going to a gym since the start of the new year. Yay! I'm feeling stronger, or at least more capable. I get sore, but it's not debilitating. I should be feeling great about it all, but I'm still super self-conscious in workout clothes. I'm fine with my leggings, but all my shirts make me feel bad when I look in the mirror. I am not ready for form-fitting, so my shirts are a little looser. They all just seem to be too short or the fabric is clingy. Does anyone with more in the middle than they like have a go-to workout shirt that they love? I know this may sound trivial, but I would just rather feel a little better in my outfit while I am staring at myself in the gym wall of mirrors. Thanks! |
Try the Athleta speed light shirt. They have three - tank, short sleeves, and long sleeves. I think the short sleeved is the most flattering. They are fitted around the shoulders, but a bit blousier and ruched around the midsection, so I think they tend to look good on all body shapes and hide that middle bulge more than looser shirts that tend to hang strangely.
Also, I totally get what you are saying. Having cute workout clothes is very motivating. Congratulations and keep it up! |
Thanks! I can see how the ruching will help. I'll check it out! |
I am picky about my workout tops too as a larger gal. If they're not cut just right I hate how they look. I want them to skim over me in a nice line without being clingy. I have had good luck with Zella and Athleta tops. |
Thanks! |
I swear by these tanks from Amazon. Amazon Essentials Women's Tech Stretch Racerback Tank Top (Available in Plus Size), Multipacks https://a.co/d/c4ML1Mr |
I love these tanks. I have them in multiple colors, in two styles.
